Program: MOTIVATING THE OVERSHCEDULED STUDENT

Presenter: Molly Orlando

9:45 am Social Time

10:00 am Program

Location: Municipal Arts Center, 1119 Fifth St. SW

“We all want a studio in which every student is highly motivated and treats lessons and practicing as an utmost priority. Unfortunately, we as teachers often find ourselves competing for attention with students’ numerous other activities. This presentation takes an original approach to motivating the overscheduled student through creative projects and ideas, including studio-wide art installations, imaginative assignments, and other useful games, resources and tricks that encourage and inspire more practice, more accountability, and ultimately, better results.” Presenter and pianist Molly Orlando is recognized as a soloist, collaborator, and teacher throughout the metropolitan Washington, DC area. She received BM and MM degrees from the Catholic University of America, currently serves as a faculty member of The George Washington University and owns Opal Music Studio in Old Town, Alexandria, VA.
